Band Uniform 2A big thank you to Dr. Eberhardt and the School Board for the purchase of new uniforms for the Mountaineer Band!  Mike Allen picked the uniform and placed the order last summer.  We will be looking sharp at the next band competition.

Joe Duct TapeThe Waverly Yowell PTO sponsored a family night to raise money and celebrate Valentine’s Day.  Students and parents enjoyed the opportunity to design cards and decorate cookies with a variety of sugary treats.  Community members donated dollar bills and receive one yard of duct tape with the hope of sticking the principal, Joe Kubricki,  to the wall.  A special thank you to PTO President Denise Herman and the rest of the parent and teacher volunteers that made the event a great success.

SolarMCHS seniors, Mckenzie Ryder and Cassie Byers turned a shelf in Alecia Hamm’s classroom into a hanger and backdrop for a glow in the dark solar system model. The students initiated the project on their own and worked on it after school. Assistance was also provided by junior Carlie Lambrich and physics teacher Thomas Benns.

EcoBill Bostic is presenting his edible deciduous forest biome in Lisa Taylor’s Biology class. Everything had to pertain to the animals and plants presented in his power point. The trees are edible cupcakes on a chocolate covered pretzel. Great way to learn!

Dalmatians101st Day Celebration.  The Kindergarten students and team broke the mold this year by celebrating the 101st day of school.  Excitement filled the school as they paraded around as the 101 Dalmatians!  Cruella De Vil, played by Kindergarten teacher Kendall Fears, even accompanied the puppies!  The students also celebrated by making and writing about Dalmatians, counting to 101, and eating “Puppy Chow.”
