MCPS held its division Senior Leadership Day on April 7, 2016. Seniors selected roles of various MCPS employees ranging from superintendent to teacher to principal to central office administrator. Seniors led the division in all four schools and the School Board Office.
73 Seniors participated.
Kelly Jarvis was named Student Superintendent of Schools for the day. She attended meetings dealing with finance, maintenance, and personnel; approved expenditures; prepared for and led the division-level Leadership Meeting; visited all schools and the transportation department.
Dr. Eberhardt was impressed with Student Superintendent Jarvis. “Kelly is a natural leader. She impressed me with her ease in guiding 24 division leaders and her approach in every school with our professionals. Truly, she is awesome.”
Seniors enjoyed the day and so did our MCPS students who were lucky to have an MCHS Senior leading.
Student Superintendent Jarvis commented, “I enjoyed going to the top, experiencing the ins and outs of keeping the school system running smoothly. I feel fortunate to have had the experience to visit each school, speaking to teachers and other faculty and having the opportunity to run a meeting that was attended by all administrators.”
