Third Grade Students Enjoy Visit from Friends of the Rappahannock

Friends of the Rappahannock.  Third Grade enjoyed a visit from the Friends of the Rappahannock on Friday for a program called We All Live Downstream.  Students watched a short video on the importance of keeping our waterways clean which focused on the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  The students were given paper and asked to draw what they would build if given a riverfront property.  Their pieces connected and each class created a part of the Rappahannock River.  Students then discussed what pollutants their property would create and how those pollutants would travel downstream and affect other areas of the river.  Our students’ artwork will be on display at the Wild and Scenic Film Festival on Saturday, March 18 at the Daniel Technology Center, Germanna in Culpeper.  Free admission for all students!
