Dear WYES Families, we are excited to let you know that because MCPS received special grant moneywe are able to offer a special learning opportunity this summer to ALL of our students at WYES!
WHAT? Mad Explorers Summer Learning program. Summer learning will include FREE remediation, enrichment, tutoring, and hands-on activities using a PBL approach. This may include special events and/or trips that will be FREE for your student.
WHEN? June 6-9, 13-16 and 21-23 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. (MCPS is closed June 20).
WHERE? Students will meet at WYES. Transportation may be arranged for families who need it.
WHY? Summer learning is an opportunity for your child to engage with their peers, teachers and administrators in a fun filled, safe learning environment. This is a VERY special learning opportunity! Students will be grouped in grade level teams and will have MANY opportunities for learning outside of the box under the supervision of our MCPS teachers and staff in a "camp like" setting. Each week students will experience a new "themed" learning adventure!
WHAT ELSE? Breakfast and lunch will be provided FREE through our MCPS summer feeding program!
How do I sign my student up? Please complete the attached google form no later than May 6:
If your student is already signed up for BGCA, Camp Hoover Ridge, Camp Unakite or any other camp this summer we WILL work with you to get your child to WYES for summer learning. Please fill out any special requests on the google form.
