MCPS Retirees Honored

The Madison County School Board honored the retirements of six people at the June 12 School Board Meeting to a crowd of over 50 colleagues, family, and friends. The retirees had 202 years combined experience in education with 161 years in Madison. Each employee was honored by a colleague who talked about their years of service and the difference each has made in people’s lives. There were many tears and much laughter.

The Retirees are:

Speech Pathologist Deborah Atkins (36 years)
Reading Specialist Cora Chlebnikow (30 years)
Cafeteria Worker Nancy Collier (30 years)
Attendance Officer Debra Dean (30 years)
Supervisor of Transportation Mary Eppard (36 years)
Instructional Assistant LaVerne Shotwell (40 years)
