On Friday, March 23, 2018 the Madison County community came out to celebrate a beloved former teacher, administrator and coach, Mr. Allan McLearen, by dedicating the soccer field in his honor. Allan began his career as a marketing teacher at MCHS in 1975 and held many positions in the school system but it was his role as track and soccer coach that left the biggest impression. Former athletes like George "Buck" Smith spoke about the importance Coach "Mac" had on his athletic career, education and personal life. Coach "Mac "organized the first girls soccer team in 1998 and in just one year they won the regional championship against Central Woodstock. Bryan Wilson and Jessica Davidson, both played soccer under Coach Mac's leadership and spoke of his incredible character, kindness and support. With his wife, Mary Linda by his side, their three sons , Sam, Matt and Luke unveiled the sign that will forever hold their father's name and his legacy!
