Dr. Pattie Rees

Dr. Rees joined Waverly Yowell Elementary School in 2019, following six years as an English teacher at William Wetsel Middle School. Her career began at Farmington Elementary School in Culpeper County, where she taught 5th grade for thirteen years. During her teaching career, Dr. Rees was named Culpeper County Teacher of the Year and William Wetsel Middle School’s Teacher of the Year.  

Dr. Rees grew up in Madison County and is a 1997 Madison County High School graduate. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Mary Washington with an endorsement in Elementary Education. Dr. Rees earned her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Troy University and her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.

Dr. Rees views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and community stakeholders are essential to enriching the experience at Waverly Yowell Elementary.

During her free time, Dr. Rees enjoys reading, walking her dog, and spending time with family.
