Mrs. Andrea Wilson

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year, Mountaineer families! I’m honored to serve as the principal of William Wetsel Middle School and work with our remarkable students, parents/guardians, staff and community members.

I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from James Madison University and began my teaching career at Louisa County Middle School in 2006. In 2012, I came home to Madison County to give back to the community I grew up in by teaching at Madison County High School and Madison Primary School. I earned an endorsement from James Madison University in School Administration in 2017 and served five years as an assistant principal before having the opportunity to lead in my current role beginning in the fall of 2021.

Wetsel Middle School holds high expectations for student behavior and academic success. We believe our schoolwide “Show Your BLUE Expectations” (Be respectful, Learn every day, Understand responsibilities, Encourage everyone) help students strive for excellence.

We’ve worked diligently with the fundraising support of our students, families and community organizations to update our outside facilities. We now offer fitness stations, updated basketball courts and an outdoor learning space for students and the community!

Our faculty and staff at Wetsel Middle School are passionate about creating positive relationships and are committed to helping inspire students to achieve their potential! We provide the opportunity for students to develop good citizenship skills, encourage students to become increasingly self-directed and assist with the development of academic and social skills.

On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration, I want to thank you for your support and partnership.

Warmly,

Andrea Wilson
