MADISON, Va. - On March 8, William Wetsel Middle School students were treated to a special opportunity during 2023's National School Breakfast Week.

Virginia Department of Transportation representatives spoke to students about the importance of breakfast.

The theme is "Dig Into School Breakfast," leading VDOT to park a front-end loader outside the school cafeteria.

VDOT representatives compared breakfast to fuel for the loader, saying without fuel, it won't run.

Workforce opportunities with the department were also showcased during the event.
