Spring Break & Solar Eclipse

Madison County Public Schools will be closed for spring break next week. Schools will reopen on Monday, April 8th.

April 8th is also the day of the solar eclipse. To ensure the safety of everyone, we have ordered solar eclipse viewing glasses for students and employees. Our schools have planned various activities related to the eclipse, including providing safe viewing instructions.

The peak of the eclipse will occur during dismissal, so many students will be on their buses during this time. They will be instructed on why it is not safe to look at the sun without proper viewing glasses. Our bus drivers will follow all the recommended safety procedures during the eclipse.

Parents also have the option to pick up their children early and watch the eclipse together.
